Plot Outline: Aeon Flux is an assassin working with a group that is trying to overthrow their government.
So Aeon Flux (to me) was an epic fail of a movie. It was ridiculously cheesy. You can see the type of movie it was trying to be and you can see how and why it failed miserably.
So as far as I understood, there was some illness that wiped out the population. Everyone that survived was quarantined in this makeshift society. So as I understood it, these were just humans…so why did Aeon Flux appear to be super human? I didn’t understand why or how. I feel like she was supposed to be highly trained in martial arts and things of that nature but that the effects were done so badly that it came off as superhuman instead of an acquired skill.
Speaking of effects, the fight scenes were shown badly. They were quick shots and not focused well so I couldn’t really see any of the action. And besides that everything looked so fake! What kind of special effects were these???
The entire movie came off like a spoof.
So a major aspect of this film that was bothering me so much and just getting under my skin was that it was SO over dramatic.
The one and only part that I appreciated was cool because they show what was happening inside the body like when she took a pill. Showed it travel and dissolve in an x-ray type thing. Yep, that was the one scene I liked.
I felt as though the first mission was so easy. I could have done that myself! lol For realssss
I was bothered at the attempt of a successful movie by way of sex appeal. The women in the movie all spoke deeply, sexually, and dramatically.
And the outfits. Ohhhh the outfits. Aeon Flux’s pajamas were a strip of fabric over her boobs just covering her nipples and a pair of underwear.
Her mission outfit: Tight black leather, open chest, and of course with her hair in her face all dramatic and sexy.
It might just be me but that’s not an outfit I’d wear on a mission where I almost die. And my hair most definitely would not be in my face.
Just to top it all off, the acting sooooooooooooooooooooo bad!
Can you tell I hated this movie?
It reminded me a lot of resident evil. But I liked Resident Evil.

Plot Outline: A girl is tormented by the schools outcast until they take a creative writing class together.
Last night I was in the mood to watch a movie. I turned on and off three different movies within 10 minutes. I just couldn’t get into anything.
I was browsing Netflix’s Instant movies and came across Teenage Dirtbag. I read the description and decided to give it a try, especially because it is based on a true story.
Within the first few minutes I loved it already. It was just what I was in the mood for.
Though the movie stays on the surface for the most part, there are large hints and indications of two very tragic lives. These two characters Thayer and Amber are both suffering in different ways. They don’t connect to anyone else and it seems that they never really had anyone to talk to.
A lot of the movie is made up of hints, undertones, facial expressions, and actions. There aren’t really any significant or deep conversations that form their strong bond. With Thayer and Amber it’s all in their small gestures of care towards each other. The actions and looks in Teenage Dirtbag spoke louder than any conversation ever could have.
Thayer and Amber start an unexpected connection. I loved that they didn’t have a lot of conversation but they really felt each other and saw into each other’s souls. They connected on a very deep level and their connection was intense. A significant scene in the film is when Amber takes out an orange from her book bag and rolls it to Thayer during study hall. Small gestures like this, telling looks and body language speak loudly in the film.
Thayer and Amber had a love for each other that can’t be expressed in words and they cared for each other very much but unfortunately two scarred people often hurt each other as much as they care for each other.
Teenage Dirtbag was incredibly powerful. I felt very attached to it and I know I will be thinking about it for days. I even went back and rewatched a few scenes.
Great film. It was extremely well made. I can’t get over it. And the acting was phenomenal.
Plot Outline: A man summons a demon in hopes of finding his girlfriend that was stolen by another demon and taken to hell.

Lo was…something else. It was quite interesting to watch. I was pretty confused the entire time and just didn’t know how to feel or react. It wasn’t like a real movie. It was this weird spoof of demon movies. The acting was awful. It was very over dramatized with the facial expressions that it was laughable. There was random singing…and the story was silly. And yet…I was intrigued. I couldn’t stop watching it. I needed to see where this insanity went.
Besides the make up and costumes, I felt like this was a movie I could have made with my friends. There wasn’t anything really special and it barely seemed like a real movie.
I did however love the ending. Throughout the film I was very curious as to how Lo would end. It was so odd that I couldn’t imagine what they would do. I was pleasantly surprised with the ending. It was y favorite part of the entire movie.
Plot Outline: A group of strangers are trapped in an elevator and can sense evil is among them.

I know many people aren’t M. Night Shyamalan fans actually, I know people are pretty anti M. Night but not me! I can’t help but love the guy. I always enjoy his movies. Keep ‘em comin’!
Everyone was telling me how awful Devil was. How stupid, silly, badly acted…all I heard were negative things about it. Knowing my love for M. Night movies I had to see it despite all the bad hype. Sure enough, I loved it.
Call me crazy but I thought it was an interesting plot. Now, the acting wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it has been in other films I have seen lately. I found the characters to be loveable.
This can be risky in a movie but it brought up a lot of religion and questions about the unknown…God and such.
I liked this because I find these topics to be fascinating.
Devil actually really made me thing. It had a lot of great quotes and situations that brought up reflecting on your own life and faith.
Back to the movie aspect. I thought it did a good job of keeping me a little nervous. There were cues where we just knew something bad was going to happen. I liked that because it kept me on my toes.
There was a point in the film when I thought it should just end there but it kept going…
I didn’t like the ending too much. It was a bit predictable.
Overall I liked Devil. I thought it was well made, suspenseful, and thought provoking.

Plot Outline: The members of a small town in Iowa start going crazy due to mysterious toxins in their water supply.
The Crazies was soooo good. Surprisingly I have no complaints about it! For once I only have good things to say. Shocking, I know. But I do always love zombie type movies. It’s hard for me not to like them…but not impossible.
The Crazies got right down to it. Within the first few minutes of the movie opening we get some action. It was fast paced which I always appreciated.
The Crazies reminded me of Quarantine but on a much larger scale. Instead of being cooped up in a building this zombie apocalypse type event took place in a town. The Crazies was an absolute fantastic thriller. The entire movie was suspenseful and it contained many shocking moments. I won’t lie; I jumped and yelped out loud quite a few times. Granted, I did watch this alone in my room with the lights off.
What I loved about The Crazies was that it wasn’t just about zombies or action. It had many realistic aspects to it.
We get into the human rights issues of how the government can at times hurt its people instead of help them. It all comes down to power and selfishness. We see this throughout the film.
The Crazies felt real. If a zombie apocalypse happened I feel like this would be what it was like. The emotions of desperation, the suspense, and the fear all felt so real thanks to the realistic events and good acting.
I loved how real the relationships in this movie were. We see some characters really trying to stick together and the sacrifices they make for each other’s well being. And on the opposite spectrum we see how some characters are selfish and will do anything to survive, including leaving loved ones behind. And some lines were really thought provoking. Example: “Don’t ask me why I can’t leave my wife and I won’t ask you why you can.” It forces you to put yourself in their situation and really think about what you would do.
I was so impressed with every aspect of the film. Even the music was perfect. It was eerie and successfully set up the mood.
And the ending! Ohhhh, the ending. It was perfection. I don’t think it could have ended any better.
Basically, see The Crazies! It was such a well done zombie/illness film.

Plot Outline: After a car accident Steven reevaluates his life and decides to come out of the closet and live life to the fullest. Once being sent to prison for…living life to the fullest, Steven meets the love of his life, Phillip Morris and he is willing to do anything to stay with him.
I Love You Phillip Morris was not what I expected at all! It was shocking but in a very pleasant way. I liked this movie a lot and its always nice to see Jim Carrey branch out. This was a very different role than he usually plays, same with Ewan McGregor. The film could have done without the accents but I’ll overlook that. It was based on a true story so maybe that’s why.
The cast of actors really threw themselves into their roles. They acted their roles with every thing they had. Both McGregor and Carrey really showed us their talents and acting abilities. Leslie Mann as well, this role was nothing like I’ve ever seen her play. She usually has a bigger role but I was glad she decided to take this role, small but good and impressive.
Everything throughout the movie was very out of nowhere and things kept happening that I didn’t expect so I had to keep watching to see where this was going. It definitely kept me interested. Everything was so over the top that I just couldn’t guess what was going to happen. I liked that, even though at times it seemed a bit ridiculous.
The whole movie was pretty upbeat and not too serious. There were a few emotional scenes but I couldn’t take these scenes seriously just because of the way the movie was. The emotion didn’t flow; these scenes came out of nowhere. It wasn’t the tone of the movie at all. They were out of place and didn’t transition well.
Towards the end I Love You Phillip Morris got very serious. In this case it was more built up so it was better received than the emotional scenes that were just out of nowhere. I absolutely love it when Jim Carrey does a different, serious role because it’s always fantastic and impressive. Nothing in this movie was what I expected at all. I loved that it kept surprising me. I Love You Phillip Morris was a very odd love story and I loved it even more because it is based on a true story.
