Release Date: January 18th, 2008

Plot Outline: A group of friend’s try to survive some sort of alien/monster take over in New York City.

I was very excited to see Cloverfield, from the very moment I laid eyes on the poster. The Statue of Liberty’s head missing got me all excited. It was love at first sight. I love end of the world movies, love them! Besides my bias towards end of the world type movies this one in particular was fantastic. It was Blair Witch meets Independence Day or something of that sort. The camera was very shaky and often times I did not know what was going on or what I was looking at. This is just the way it was supposed to be. It totally added to the feel of the movie. I was in a panicked frenzy and confused just as the characters were. It was quite a short movie, only about an hour and fifteen minutes. Though so short I do have to complain about the first fifteen minutes of the movie. They were so boring! I understand why they were there, to introduce the characters and to build up to the climax but my oh my, too much building. Half the time I couldn’t tell who the characters were or what they were saying. And frankly, I didn’t care. That is my one and only complaint. Other than that this movie was perfect. A must see.
