The Eye

Release Date: February 1st 2008

Plot Outline: The remake of the Hong Kong film “Jian Gui”. A blind woman (Alba) receives an eye transplant and begins to see things she shouldn’t be seeing.

This film is yet another remake of a Japanese horror film. I did however like this one. I love Jessica Alba and think she is just fabulous but I didn’t see how she fit into this role. I felt like she was wrong for this part.
The plot was fascinating. It was fairly creepy-not scary, but a tad creepy. The ending was predictable; I just wasn’t sure how they were going to pull it off. But they managed quite nicely.
I loved the subtle romantic, love-hate relationship between her and Alessandro Nivola’s character. It wasn’t a main focus throughout the movie but it was always there in the background. It was cute. I liked how they did it.

Besides that there is nothing too else to mention about it. It wasn’t that special. It is a good ‘stay in on a rainy day’ type of movie to watch. I wouldn’t go out and pay to see it on the big screen
